STAN SKIBBY - JIMI HENDRIX SPECIAL NIGHT. Sir StanSkibby, Born and raised on Chicago's South-side. A singer, songwriter/musician. StanSkibby is from a family of 6 siblings; 3 brothers, 3 sisters and Mom and Dad. All are musically inclined, The Winfield family. StanSkibby started singing and dancing at age 5, a self taught drummer at age 9 and a self taught guitarist at age 14. He grew-up listening to the Motown sound, James Brown, Jazz, Blues, R&B, The British Invasion, American Pop and Jimi Hendrix. Although, Hendrix and James Brown was his main music Influence, Stan enjoyed being in bands playing Funk, disco, R&B and Reggae. It was in the late 70's when he joined his first Professional band (Magnum Force) a Funkoul R&B band based out of Chicago, where they landed their first music contract with (Keli Arts Records) Carl Davis Productions. Carl Davis produced great acts such as; Gene Chandler, The Chi-Lites and the late great Barbra Acklin just to mention a few). Magnum Force had a three hit singles entitled; (Share My Love), (Cool Out) and (A Touch Of Funk). which put the group on the top of the charts in various States through-out the United States in 1982. After StanSkibby's contract expired, he decided to move forward to another music Genre, Reggae. Played the Chicago North-side Reggae scene for 3 years. Then decided to re-root into the Blues and give tribute to his fallen heroe, Jimi Hendrix. StanSkibby is a fearless band leader and a true Jimi Hendrix disciple. He is certified in; The business of music, Music production, Creative writing and Basic audio engineering. This was recommended by his record company in 1984 (Chi-Sound Records) Keli Arts Productions. In year 2000, StanSkibby got his first international tour in Poland, giving tribute to Jimi Hendrix, he has toured there 12 times from year 2000 through year 2010. During Year 2009 through 2011 he has toured Lithuania, Italy, Poland, the South of France, America, and Austria, Giving tribute to Jimi Hendrix and the electric Blues. LP/CD's recorded: (Magnum Force 1982), (Leszek Cichonski featuring; StanSkibby 2001), (Nellie Tiger Travis), (Biscuit & the Mix) and (Billy Cox 2009). There are numerous of artist he shared the stage with! such as; Buddy guy, John Primer, Billy Branch, Deep Purple's Steve Morse, Hendrix's bass player and drummer Buddy Miles and Billy Cox, Phil Guy, shirley Dixon the late great Willie Dixon's daughter, Shirley King B.B. Kings daughter, Heatwave, Lakeside, The Emotions, Yabba Griffith, Twisted Sister's Dee Snider, Smashing Pumpkins, Stone Temple Pilots, the Dazz Band, Carlos Johnson, Leszek Cichonski, Midnight Star, The Staple Singers and many others. Some very big festivals StanSkibby played; The Chicago Blues Festival, The Taste Of Chicago Festival, Poland's Thanks Jimi Festival, just to mention a few. These Festivals held 50,000 to over 1000,000 people in each event. For those of you who don't know Sir StanSkibby, you will! He's like Rock'nroll, he's here to stay!!!
